NCSCR 2016 welcomes submission of abstracts for poster and oral presentation in the following scopes:

  • Fundamental of Stem Cells
  • Application of Stem Cells
  • Tissue Engineering
  • Biomaterial
  • Cancer Stem Cells
Guidelines for abstracts submission
General guidelines
  1. Abstract can only be submitted through email to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
  2. Abstract must be written in English using Arial font size 11
  3. Abstract must be previously unpublished work at the time of submission and after the end of the colloquium
  4. Presenting author must be a registered participant
  5. Each registered participant is allowed to present only ONE oral/ poster presentation
  6. An individual may appear as a co-author in more than one abstract
  7. The Scientific Committee reserves the right to reject/ categorise/ determine the mode of presentation (oral/ poster) of a submitted abstract
  8. The presenter's abstract should be saved using the file name "presenter's first name_date of submission". Example: "khairulbariah_071215" or "suatcheng_240116"
Abstract format

Research outcome

  • A structured abstract with a maximum of 250 words must be submitted
  • An abstract comprises of:
    • Authors and their affiliations
    • Introduction: a brief introduction or background of the research
    • Objective(s): state the main objective(s) of the research
    • Method(s): a brief methodology of the research
    • Result(s): clear, concise and precise finding(s) of the study
    • Conclusion: final outcome of the study


Acceptance and rejection

  • The presenting author will be notified via email three weeks after the closing date of abstract submission
  • The presenting author's email address provided must be correct or notifications and other abstract related correspondence cannot be delivered

Guideline for presentation

Oral presentation
  • All slide presentation must be submitted in MS power point presentation (Windows 7) format only
  • Please bring your presentation in the CD, DVD or ‘disk on key’ memory stick and load it on the computer at least 4 hours prior to your presentation
  • If you are combining video in your presentation, please ensure it is compatible to the computer in your lecture hall
  • Each presenter is allocated 10 minutes for presentation and 3 minutes for Q&A session
  • If you are using a Mac computer, please ensure it is compatible or alternatively you may bring your own laptop (if really necessary). If you are bringing your laptop, please notify the person in-charge beforehand
Poster presentation
  • The maximum poster dimension: 90cm width, 120cm height
  • Title, author (s) and institution (s) should be placed at the top of the poster
  • The content must follow the subheadings: Introduction, Objective, Methods, Results and Discussion, Conclusion
  • The minimum font size allowable is 28
  • Poster should be legible (readable) from a distance of at least one meter
  • You will be notified by email of assigned board number. Please ensure that you mount your poster according to the number
